One of the books I'm currently preaching through is Revelation. I just laughed in agreement when I read this quote:

Many good and faithful preachers rank preaching on apocalyptic texts alongside handling serpents; they have heard that people do it, but they have no desire to come anywhere near them"
—Larry Paul Jones and Jerry L. Sumney.

How (dissapointingly) true it is!

Indeed. But if you are a covenantalist you could understand, because you wouldn't know where to draw the line on allegory. That would be very scary! ;)

You identify, people always manufacture comments when anything is predicted to prove in 2012, like “obviously that is if the world is still here.” You do effectuate that the Mayans predict the humanity will finish on Dec. 21 (or 23rd)? So in all strong if anything is booming to happen in 2012 there is only the slimmest chance that the world hand down have ended first it happens.
