THE OMNIPRESENCE OF GOD.

The OMNIPRESENCE of God means that God is fully and truly present in all of His being in every place. All of God permeates everywhere. In every place, at all times, at all locations in all of space God’s being is fully there. Quite simply, God is there everywhere.
Proverbs 15.3 says the “eyes of the LORD are in every place keeping watch over the evil and the good.” Or, can anyone hide himself so that God does not see him? Indeed God fills the heavens and the earth (Jeremiah 23.24). The psalmist extolled that if he goes to the heavens, God is there, and if he goes to Sheol even God is there (Psalm 139.8). How marvelous to think of the expansiveness, the exhaustiveness, the extremities, and the encompassing nature of God’s perfect Being. God is everywhere, all the time, in all of His wondrous being!
Consider for a moment this reality about God’s omnipresence. God is present everywhere in the fullness of His attributes. All of God’s being is with you right here today. God is present with you to protect you, defend you, show grace to you, strengthen you, and conform you to Christ. God is present everywhere, at the time time, perfectly. God has no limitations to his omnipresence.
Because of this infinite truth, and because God is a spirit and does not have a body like a man (John 4.24), He fully attends to and watches over all the billions of people at the exact same time. Not only does He watch all people, He is fully present with everyone — not even to mention God’s full presence in the depths and in the heights and in the impossible to get to places of this creation. God declares about Himself: “Heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool” (Isaiah 66.1).
God is not divided and He cannot be separated. He doesn’t divide Himself or spread thin like we may. Psalm 145.18 teaches that God is near to those who call upon Him! How amazing to ponder that all of God is fully near to you when you call upon Him through Christ’s mediating work!
Marvelously, God is with you presently all the time because His Spirit dwells within you (Romans 8.9). What comfort to know God’s amazing power is at work in you as a believer, as you trust Christ, as you walk in His ways, as you put off sin, and clothe yourself with righteous conduct! How delightful to know that God is yours and you are His! Truly you can fight sin. He empowers you and enables you to walk in His ways (Ephesians 3.20-21). You cannot say: “I can’t” because in Christ you can follow Him (Ephesians 4.1). What sin are you fighting? God is with you! What temptation are you resisting. God stands with you to help you!
But for the unconverted and the hopeless, this attribute of God must terrify your soul! You have no hope of escaping God’s coming for you in judgment. And God says, though you dig into heaven or you dig into the depths of the earth, “from there I will bring them down” (Amos 9:2-4). God is at war with the proud and stubborn and unbelieving, and you cannot hide from him though you hide in the mountains or in the caves (Revelation 6.16). Seek the living God right now! Call upon His name! He will expose all your inner and hidden thoughts of the heart (Hebrews 4.12). God will bring to light things hidden and disclose the motives of men’s hearts (1 Corinthians 4.5). Run to Christ as your mighty refuge this very hour, this day and hesitate no longer! God is present in all His being everywhere, at the same time! Worship, contemplate, and exalt His name!
